The Christmas pickle is a fun holiday tradition where a pickle ornament is hidden in the Christmas tree on Christmas Eve. The family member who finds the pickle first gets a surprise. The surprise could be a cozy-fuzzy costume for this pickle. The kids and adults will love such a gift!

The costume difficulty level is intermediate due to working with fuzzy yarn.

For the pickle:

Sport 5 ply cotton blend yarn (330 m/100 g)

You’ll need two shades of green yarn for the pickle. Mix and match the colors as you like. For the pattern, I used light green (Alize Cotton Gold #485) and yellow-green (Alize Cotton Gold №193) colors.

For the costume:

Fuzzy chenille yarn suitable for a 2 mm crochet hook. I used Alize Softy (115 m/50 g) in white #55 and cream #310 colors.

For the decoration, I chose a cotton blend yarn like Alize Cotton Gold in the following colors: orange, light pink, red, brown, turquoise, and black.

2 mm and 1.25 crochet hooks.
